It’s hard to believe that it’s been over two years since I posted last. Life moves on, I suppose. It’s been an interesting couple of years and I cannot say that they have been altogether pleasant. Of course there have been good moments like Jackson and I celebrating 6 years of marriage earlier this month, I became an aunt(!!), and we have visited our families often in that time. But things have been difficult, too. We were tested mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically, which is something that while you’re in the middle, feels like unending night. Then, finally. Finally we start to see a little bit of daylight.
So here we are, two years down the road, and we are starting to see daylight. A little flutter begins in my mind, ‘What if I start up the blog again?’ It’s a funny thing when you love something so much that you can’t seem to get it out of your head. This little thought began in January 2020. I didn’t know where to start because starting over seemed ridiculous, but I didn’t want to keep going down the path I started years prior. Toward the end of my blogging journey in 2018 I felt forced to create content quickly in a time that was already stressful for me. The content I was creating, though timely in manner, was something I felt I was settling for. I wasn’t proud.
Fast-forward to February 2020 when I started to flesh out the issues of the blog that I was unhappy with in 2018. I polled you on Instagram to see what content you like the most from me. I redesigned my site to something with minimalistic design and easy navigation. I stockpiled images and posts, so I didn’t have to feel rushed. I started weaving the blog together again, but this time with so much more love and intention.
So now, I lovingly present to you the new Wanderings and Beautiful Things. I kept some of my old content, but spruced it up a bit. Several posts have been rewritten and photos changed. The posts that I felt were subpar have been erased with the intention of much better things to come! The main focus of W&BT is going to be on travel. It has been my passion for so long, that I can hardly deny giving it the spotlight. I will also be posting about fashion, art, and life itself, but not nearly as regularly as travel. I hope you will join me in this journey as we start a new chapter!
