Highlights of 2017

As I sit here thinking about this year, I cannot help but feel blessed for all the experiences I have had in 2017. It was definitely full of ups and downs, but I am forever grateful for this year of growth! I thought I would share some of my 2017 highlights, some goals for next year, and some general encouragement! Let’s start with some highlights!

A HUGE GIGANTIC highlight of my year (and my life) was that Jax and I got to fulfill a dream of ours and travel to Europe in February. We went to England, Scotland, Ireland, and France. To be honest, I miss Europe every single day. We had such an incredible time wandering around beautiful cities and countrysides, it still feels unreal that we actually did it. Below is one of my absolute favorite photos from our trip because you can just see the excitement and pure bliss beaming from us!

highly recommend traveling while you are young, if you are able! I hear a lot of people say that they plan to travel and see the world when they retire, but we didn’t want to wait that long! How many times in life are you ever going to have the opportunity to go wherever and do whatever you want!? And traveling with your best friend in the entire world isn’t so bad either! Ha! I think it’s important to set goals and make those goals a reality! We desperately wanted to travel overseas, so we made a goal that we were going to save like crazy and make a whirlwind trip, and that’s exactly what we did! So not only did we get to travel to Europe, but we felt that sense of accomplishment from hard work and saving!

Although they might be small, I do have some other highlights to our year! I graduated with my associates degree, which was cool. We decide to take a leap and move to a small town outside of Atlanta so Jackson could pursue his dream of working in the film industry. I got a job working for a family-owned jewelry store which has turned into my absolute favorite job I have ever had! Every day I feel more fulfilled, excited, and blessed to work with such wonderful people in such an uplifting environment! We have gotten to visit our families more than usual, because we are in a pretty central location. The blog has been doing better than ever in views and in collaborations with companies! All in all, it has been a beautiful year!

I am excitedly awaiting the new year with wide eyes and an open heart! We will be ringing in the New Year with some sweet friends of ours in Tampa. My brother is getting MARRIED in August, which is super exciting! I know there will be plenty of travels in our future, most likely around the U.S. I have lots of fun things planned for the blog for next year, including a collaboration with a really sleek company based in London! 2018 is going to be a good year, I can feel it!

As this year comes to a close and another year begins I highly suggest evaluating yourself. It’s not always an easy thing to do, but times like this are perfect for finding motivation to change. Where do you want to be in 2018? Set some goals, some attainable, some a stretch. Remember to put the Lord first in everything and it will all fall into place accordingly!

Lastly, (kudos to you if you made it through this entire post) I want to thank YOU, my beautiful, poetic, noble, land mermaid! You are the reason I am still writing this blog. Yes, it’s something I love doing, but several times this year I thought about quitting. Thank you to all of the people who have encouraged me to keep going!! Without my readers I would not be where I am today. To you, I am forever grateful!
