Hey y’all! I hope this post finds you all doing well. I decided that tonight I would break my silence about our Europe trip, especially because it’s so soon! A lot of people have been asking me questions, and I feel that the easiest way to answer all the questions would be by telling you here! So, I’ll begin with the most frequently asked questions and proceed from there.
1. “You’re going to Europe?! When?!?”
We are leaving sunny Orlando on February 11 and spending two, lovely weeks touring 4 different countries!
2. “Wow, February…. y’all are going to freeze, right??”
Most likely. But we are cold weather people, so we are actually looking forward to it!
3. “Where are the places you are going?”
We are flying into London, England. We will spend the first two days seeing as many things as we possibly can! Next, we head to Edinburgh, Scotland for 3 days. Then, we trek on over to Cork, Ireland for 3 days. Lastly, we head to Paris, France for roughly 4 days.
4. “What made you all decide to travel to those places?”
These were all places (or within train/bus ride to the places) off our bucket lists. I have always wanted to visit London and Paris. I learned gobs about these places in History and Humanities courses, which were my favorite courses while in school. My Grandpa was also stationed in these places during WWII, so from childhood I heard stories about his adventures there. For me, these two places were a no-brainer. Jackson has always wanted to see Ireland and Scotland. He’s super excited for the photography and videography aspects of our trip!
5. “Do you have specific things you plan on seeing or are you just wandering?”
We have specific things in each place, but we will also do some wandering. Most of the time wandering around ends up being my favorite part! But here are some highlights of what we plan to see:
London- The obvious things like Big Ben and Tower of London. Markets and lots of places for tea.
Edinburgh- Scottish Highlands and possibly Loch Ness (We really wanted to see Isle of Skye, but it’s super hard to get there and not to mention expensive!) Greyfriar’s Kirkyard. Edinburgh Castle.
Cork- Cliffs of Mohrer and just exploring Cork. Possible Blarney Castle if I can get Jackson to get over his germaphobia and kiss the Blarney stone with me.
Paris- Lourve, Notre Dame, Arc de Triumph, Versailles. We also have some secret things planned that I can’t talk about just yet.
6. “Do you plan on blogging about the trip?”
Absolutely! There is not a doubt in my mind about blogging this trip! I plan on doing several Wandering Wednesdays and Fashion Fridays. I’m also thinking about doing some packing and travel tips posts! I have a few other things planned for this trip, but I can’t give away all my secrets! Jackson might even do some vlogs too!
7. “Are y’all staying in….hostels?”
Nope! I think it would be an interesting experience, but I see several downfalls to hostels. We wanted someplace inexpensive, clean, and near to where we want to be. After doing a ton of research, I decided that AirBnB was going to be our best option. Some places we have booked we are staying with people, others we have the whole place to ourselves! I plan on giving some feedback on our AirBnB experiences, too!
8. “How are you going to survive without having Chick-Fil-A sweet tea for a week??”
Honestly, I have no idea.
Well friends, I think those are all of the most popular questions! We are really looking forward to all of our upcoming adventures!! Cannot wait to share!!
Have a fantastic Thursday night!!
