Cran-Awesomesauce

Hey y’all! I hope your Thanksgiving weekend was fantastic!! Mine was really nice! I spent the day chilling with Jackson and cooking! We went to see “Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2,” and it was amazing! If you haven’t seen it yet, you need to. Also, if you haven’t read the books, you should do that too. After the movie we had a nice Thanksgiving dinner with just the two of us… and Loki of course. I cooked our turkey in the crockpot and it was the bomb! It was so juicy and the meat just fell off the bones! I definitely recommend using a crockpot to cook your turkey! Here are some pictures from that day!

Now you might see a bowl of something that looks like chopped cranberries in the picture above. Today I’m going to give you that recipe! You’re probably thinking, “Abbie isn’t this a little late for cranberry sauce?” and to that I’d say, “NO WAY!” This stuff is good all year round and I promise it will be a hit at Christmas dinner! This cranberry sauce has been handed down to me from my momma, and I have lovingly coined it cran-awesomesauce. So let’s get started shall we?

First, you’ll need one 12oz bag of cranberries, 1 tangerine (you can substitute an orange, but I prefer the taste of a tangerine), 1 gala apple, an 8oz can of pineapple. Chop the apple into small wedges, and peel and section your tangerine. Once you’ve done all that, take a food processor and put everything in except your pineapple.

Turn that on until it cuts the cranberries, tangerine, and apple into little bits. I like to leave my cran-awesomesauce a little chunky!

Once the whole bag of cranberries, tangerine, and apple are in little chunky bits transfer it into a tupperware container big enough to hold 3 cups of cran-awesomesauce. Next, add the pineapple into the mix and stir it in! Finally add 1 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon! Mix all that together and refrigerate for 2 hours!

At this point I suggest making some Sister Shubert rolls to eat with your cran-awesome sauce. If you don’t know what Sister Shubert rolls are, just go look in the frozen bread section in your local grocery store! They are basically the best rolls on this planet…so you obviously need them to go with the best cranberry sauce on the planet! After the cran-awesomesauce is nice and cold, eat that stuff up!! Ingredients

3 1/2 Cup cranberries or a 12oz bag of cranberries – 1 Gala apple – 1 tangerine- 1 8oz can of pineapple – 1 1/2 cup sugar  – 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg – 1/2 tsp cinnamon

1. Put cranberries, chopped gala apple, and unpeeled tangerine in food processor. Process until mixture becomes chunky.

2. Place chopped mixture into a tupperware container, add in pineapple, sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon and mix thoroughly.

3. Put cran-awesomesauce in refrigerator to chill for 2 hours.

4. Take out and enjoy!
